Physical Activity

21st May 2026

Children have their first break at 10:45 to 11:05 and big break from 12:30 to 12:50. There is a playground roster in place to give all children an opportunity to access the playground on specific days and avail of different equipment in the yard. Students from the Senior classes take charge of distributing a variety of PE equipment from the shed such as hoola hoops, building blocks, mats etc

The Active School Committee and Playground Leaders:

Children from 3rd to 6th class are invited to join our Active School Committee. The committee members give suggestions on how we can promote our school and how we can become more active. They also have the important role of delivering all the important information from these meetings to their class teacher and fellow pupils. In conjunction with the Amber flag initiative of Yard Buddies, children from 4th to 6th class take turns to implement a range of playground games suitable for the Infant classes eg Duck, duck Goose etc. The younger children love the support and attention they get from older students. In turn, older students benefit from the positive interactions and gain valuable leadership qualities.
