Archaeological Excavation Site Visit
Students from Mr. Wallace's room had the fantastic opportunity to visit a local archaeological excavation site along the new Foynes to Limerick Road, just 10 minutes away from our school. The visit provided a fascinating insight into the process of unearthing ancient artefacts and the importance of preserving history.
Students had the opportunity to witness archaeologists in action and were shown examples of artefacts that have been discovered from various sites around Ireland.
Elaine, Sean, Mara and all the archaeologists on site were so welcoming and helpful. A special thanks to the Hunt Museum in Limerick that had allowed them to borrow some artefacts to show our students.
A fantastic experience for all the students and one they will remember.
