Dear Parents,

Hope you are all keeping well. As you know this year, due to COVID 19 we unable to celebrate the

6th Class Graduation in the usual way. This year, to celebrate their Graduation  we have come up with a few new ideas. We hope you will ALL GET INVOLVED and GIVE THEM A GOOD SEND OFF.

We have contacted LIMERICK LIVE 95 and they are very enthusiastic about helping us. They are going to PLAY a brilliant ACTION SONG called ‘THE MACERENA’ at 6.30 p.m. on TUESDAY, 23rd JUNE, 2020.

Please SAVE THIS DATE!

HERE IS HOW WE WANT YOU TO GET INVOLVED. When YOU HEAR THIS SONG being played, we WANT EVERYONE IN THE SCHOOL (from Junior infants to 6th class) to JOIN IN & DANCE WITH THE SONG. Spread the word and get your neighbours, relations involved too! You can do the dance in your kitchens, your sitting room, your garden etc. It should be good fun!

We have almost 2 WEEKS TO PRACTISE. The steps are really easy & repeated throughout the whole song. Below are links to the song.

LIMERICK LIVE 95 hope to publicise this and mention it on the end of the News. If you wish, you can video yourself dancing it and we will put on the website.

We have contacted a few other local schools and they are also delighted to get involved.

As well as celebrating the 6th Class Graduation, you will also get some exercise and have some fun! Enjoy!

Some pictures in today from one of our Senior Infants students.  They certainly have been busy. Check out this tomato plant.  It’s gigantic. I bet they will be the sweetest tomatoes in all of Croagh. Well done to this student and all the other students who have been busy growing their own vegetables and fruit at home during the lockdown. Denise from Food Dudes will be delighted when I tell her all the great work you guys are doing.

End of Year letter to parents and students

Hello all,

We are in the month of June, and as this is traditionally the time of little homework and fun activities we have decided to keep up that tradition.

As this is our last upload for the school year 2019/2020 we hope you enjoy the links/websites we have uploaded and get a lot of fun from them.

We hope to collect all the book rentals and the library books, but as yet we have no confirmed date. We would be grateful if you just gathered them all together in one place and have it easy to lay your hands on them –when we are allowed to collect.

We have decided not to release book lists at this time- as we are awaiting guidance on how the new school year will unfold. When we get this clarity we will then release them to the website. We will alert parents when they become available.

The school reports along with the proposed calendar for next year will be posted to each family in June. Prior to the sudden closures of schools, we had done out the 2020/2021 closures as some people were asking for them. This is the calendar we are using but it may be subject to change depending on Government Guidelines.

We have not been able to have or “Meet and Greet” morning for the new juniors but I will keep you up to date with developments as they happen during the next few months. If you are aware of others who may have been waiting until nearer the deadline to contact the school, could you please direct them to the outlook email address and we will try to make contact with them.

Please see below the link to a very important letter from Bishop Leahy outlining the situation with Confirmation.  He is hopeful it will happen in the Autumn.  Can I please ask all parents of the present Confirmation group to click on the link below and register their child before the June 12th deadline.   We will continue to keep you updated as we receive further details.

We would like to take this opportunity to thank all the families who have supported the school community during this difficult time. There is no doubt great things can be achieved when we all pull together- who knows what might happen if we all had good internet!!!!!!!

Enjoy the links we have for June, have a really enjoyable and wonderful summer, stay safe, and try to relax for a while before heading off into top gear again in the next school year.

A special message for 6th class

Sadly, the last few days of school won’t be the same this year.  We are all staying at home, keeping safe.  You will miss signing each others t-shirts, performing your end of year music recital and enjoying some well deserved treats. But you have so much to look forward to as you start the next chapter in your life, secondary school.  You will be excited and perhaps a little nervous and that’s absolutely normal.  Everyone feels the same.  We are proud of what you have achieved in primary school and we hope you all continue to do well in secondary school.  All the staff at Croagh NS wish you the very, very best in the future. And here is a little video from some celebrities who want to wish you well too.  So sit back and enjoy….
