Today we think of the children in 5th and 6th class who were due to receive the Sacrament of Confirmation in Kilfinny this morning.  We know that like that poem says, with all of their gifts and talents, each one of them will make a difference.

In this COVID world, families are at home together working, learning and managing as back they can in difficult circumstances. For UNESCO World Book and Copyright Day on 23 April, we are celebrating and highlighting the opportuities in the every day lives of families for parents to support young children learning to read and write.
 
We have produced 7 short videos on how families can support young children with their literacy during the school shutdown.
They will be available from Thursday for all to see and share on the TCD Youtube playlist “Literacy on the Loose”
 

TG4 Ar Scoil

A new programme started on TG 4 this week. It is called Cúla 4 ar scoil. The programme is on TG4 at 10 am Monday to Friday and you can access some of the programes on the Cúla 4 website here.

Poetry Ireland Invitation to Fifth and Sixth Class children

Fifth and sixth class students can get involved in a Poemathon by submitting a line of poetry to Poetry Ireland by 27th April. President Higgins has written the first and last lines of the poem. You will find more information here.
